WILD CARD MOVEMENT
This Friday, April 9, we dance again under the Broadway Bridge, in the dark. 8:30-9 pm.
Live! Physically distanced, maximum groups of 10 viewers.

The pandemic dealt us a wild card, and we played it as innovative outdoor dance improvisation.
With dance studios closed, we have lowered the health risk by keeping our events outdoors where conditions provide maximum ventilation – and opportunities to extend our site-specific practice. We advocate for Presence, Love, and Resilience in our dance, and as a participatory road to good, healthy, risk-taking entertainment.
An improvisation experiment open to the public, Wild Card Movement has been held weekly since October 2020, every Friday at 7 PM (usually, see updates above!). For the first 5 months it was held in Saskatoon City Hall Square. Since March, it travels every week to a different Saskatoon public, outdoor space. Up to 10 dancers gather for an hour to practice ensemble dance improvisation skills. Some weeks we have a collaborator or teacher. After, the public are invited to view our process, a half hour presentation, observing pandemic restrictions. We video our 1/2 hour improvisations and gather to view and critique our work every week, outdoors projected on to the side of a building in when weather permits, and online in winter.
This is Wild Card Movement.
LIVE. Puzzle-solving, meaning-making, listening and celebrating!
Free, but we appreciate a donation to help cover our expenses. E-transfer to ksambdance@gmail.com.
Friday, March 26, Spacing the Square! A beautiful exercise in shared and personal space and responsibility, in the Old Farmer's Market Square.

"In everyday life, "if" is a fiction, in the theatre "if" is an experiment. In everyday life, "if" is an evasion, in the theatre "if" is the truth. When we are persuaded to believe in this truth then the theatre and life are one ... when we experience the work as play, then it is not work anymore. A play is play.” ― Peter Brook
