Downtown Boogie on hold as of February 13, 2024. Stay tuned!
Tuesday December 19, Holiday wishes for Scott Moe and the Sask Party! With the Prairie Community Coalition. Music, dancing and an open mic. Come tell Scott Moe he's gotta go!
Tuesdays, 6 to 7 pm, in Saskatoon Civic Square, across from the Frances Morrison Library.
Free!
Boogie, groove, shuffle, bop, stretch, breathe, listen, connect downtown.
... Want to have your voice heard? Come have your say or your song with our mic! Request a tune!
—A one hour varied playlist, with weekly themes and special guests (spoken work, yoga, hooping, live drums, and more) who inspire us to move in a way that feels good for each.
—A respectful, alcohol-free environment.
—Talk to Miki or Kyle if you’re interested in taking the mic, or making a music playlist. Or just show up!! More info and donations: [email protected]
In our society, the primeval, joyful, and essential cultural practice of dance has been repressed and distorted by capitalism into competition and commodity. Dance is often met with scorn and shame. In this context, public community dance is a RADICAL ACT. Every Tuesday KSAMB Dance Co. brings dance to Saskatoon City Hall Square. Because of proximity to the public library and the bus mall, City Hall Square is also a refuge for the economically oppressed. We invite all to join us, and dance how you please, or not. A mini Tuesday night dance party AND an experiment in reconciliation. Dancing together is life affirming!
