2016 FEED THE DANCERS

A mobile site specific performance, with Kyle Syverson and friends, KSAMB Dance Co., Nuit Blanche, Saskatoon.

This work consisted of a 5 performers dressed in striped jackets pushing a rolling table, the "help desk" with a sign saying "Feed the Dancers". This was in response to the invitation to perform, by the event organizers, who acknowledged the success of a previous "guerilla" intervention at Nuit Blanche,  but without offering a fee or honorarium. The table was rolled through the park in which Nuit Blanche was held, with the performers executing turns, negotiating the crowds, and stopping and performing rehearsed semi-abstract, ritualized actions, excerpts of dialogue and vocalizations, sometimes in response to cues from the public, but often seemingly ignoring their reactions.
