Duane Dorgan, musician

Duane has been composing and performing music for over 50 years. Saskatoon audiences will remember him for his performances of experimental jazz at art openings for all the major art galleries in the 70’s and 80s. A percussionist by trade, training, and passion, he composes on the piano.

For several years during the mid 1990s, Duane lived in Barcelona, collaborating, performing solo, and teaching percussion.
In 2008, Duane presented VOLCANO PROJECT, an original, full length composition performed by a small orchestra at Persephone Theatre.
In 2011, Duane created the score for the play BUFFALOES, directed by Tom Bentley-Fisher, performed at Persephone Theatre Backstage Stage.
In 2012, Duane and Kyle Syverson performed a duo for WIP, Freeflow Dance Centre.
2014, Duane performed with KSAMB dance at Boishakhi Mela (Bengali New Year), Bethlehem School Auditorium.
Duane has performed tirelessly with DORGAN STEPHENSON PROJECT (comprised of Duane Dorgan, Ray Stephenson and Lee Kozak) since 1980, including several engagements at the Bassment jazz club.
Duane is a sensitive, curious, prolific music maker, whose sense of spaciousness and listening make him a great collaborator.
Duane currently resides in Marcelin, Saskatchewan. His mobility is limited, and it is a special and timely privilege that he will be able to spend some time working with KSAMB this December of 2018.
