Robin Link, multidisciplinary artist and performer
Robin Link (they/them/theirs), AKA Preston or S, is an intersex, bigenderfluid, caed, poly & pan middle-being, living with super-senses of synesthesia. Preston's kryptonite are their physical impairments and chronic illnesses. They were born in oskana kâ-asastêki, colonially known as Regina & raised alongside the Qu'Appelle Valley and with File Hills communities in Treaty 4 Territory. Through their mixed ancestry they come from a bloodline of gifted visionaries, dancers, singers, healers, teachers and dreamworkers with relations from Wakamow Valley & Wood Mountain.

For 13 years Robin has been in the roles of a therapist, crisis interventionist, advocate, coach, teacher, consultant, social program developer, food forest gardener, waste manager, safer water activist, community support, plant medicine caregiver and event coordinator. Their background stems from medicine, psychology, nursing and Indigenous studies with a specialization in complex intergenerational trauma recovery, somatics bodywork and Indigenous mental health. They enjoy facilitating land-based living, death doulaship, and cultural reconnection.
S has produced & published short stories, creative writing zines, and newspapers. They have competed & won in oratorical shows for storytelling, speeches and poetry from 2002-2007 & 2022-2024, toured their star stories teachings in planetariums in 2005, and won film photography competitions in 2011-2012. They have been a playwright & actor for musical productions in 2004 & 2010, horror film in 2019, and directed a short film in 2003 & documentary-series since 2016. They starred in 2 investigative documentaries in 2018-2019. S was featured in Vogue of June 2019. Robin shares MCing, spoken word, singing, modeling, acting, embodied somatic voicework, sound effects, literary works, soundscapes, percussion, strings, ceramics, scripts, photography, documentary, monologues, musical theatre, one-act plays, dance, paint, watercolour, fiber-arts, linocuts, video, beading, cyanotypes, a multitude of natural crafting, traditional drum & sing, drawing, carving, contact improv, psychodrama, and digital scrapbooking.
Preston's vocals range from baritone-tenor-alto-soprano. They have performed in small local venues like rRemai mModern, The Capitol Music Club, PAVED Arts, The Artful Dodger, Creative City Centre, Knox Metro, MacKenzie Art Gallery, Marquis Hall, First Nations University of Canada, and underground queer & adult shows in Regina & Saskatoon. S also performed and recorded at the Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim, Disneyland, Walt Disney Studios, and in cathedrals in Santa Monica.
They have worked with OWL magazine, Prairie Dog Magazine, GLASSLOVES, Leader-Post, Global News, The Globe and Mail, OUTSaskatoon, Indigenous Poets Society, Belle Plaine, Jeffrey Straker, Peace Akintade, Regina Symphony Orchestra, Halcyon Chamber Choir, Ignite Media, New Dance Horizons, and Listen To Dis - to name a few. They have learned from The Criminal Kid, Mike Desjarlais, Anna Obey, Megan Currie, Chasity Delorme, Amanda Strong, Dr. Lana Whiskeyjack, Mel Vee, John Arcand, Tracy Foster, Ashley Johnson, Richard-Yves (Rico) Sitoski, Mel Malinowski and many others.
Their inspiration stems from r.h. Sin, Andrea Gibson, Tenille Campbell, Jeremy Dutcher, Sarah Kay, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Joshua Whitehead, Adrian Stimson, Nayyirah Waheed, and Andy Abrahams Wilson.
Preston is the author to their story with two heartbeats, and the director to this living motion-picture experience, where the wonders of creation will use them as a hollow bone instrument to help carry the dying & broken, awakening the spirits of others who are on their healing journey too.
